This is a really neat video that demonstrates the art of layered, carved candle making.

With one in three kids being bullied at school, UP TV wanted to know what average adults would do if they were to witness an act of bullying first-hand. In order to do so, they set up a social experiment involving three middle-school aged girls sitting at a public bus stop. Two of the girls begin to harass the other with cruel taunts, as strangers listen on. At first, it seems as if the bystanders are simply ignoring the verbal attack. One, two, three times - the people says nothing as the girl is teased.

Just when it seems as if all faith in humanity is gone, someone finally speaks up.

This beautiful short film was made by a high school student in Maryborough, Queensland.  It shows a dog's life from its point of view.

I think I've figured out a reason panda's are endangered:

This is not and isolated incident; if you google "Panda stuck in a tree', heaps of videos will come up.

A photographer has taken photos of people and them edited out people's cellphones and tablets.  What is left are photos that leave the world looking strange and lonely. Here's the article and photos.

There are a lot of awesome sand art videos on youtube.  Here are a couple of really neat ones:

This one's really long, but very good.  It's the Maori creation story drawn with sand:

I can't begin to imagine how many hours this troup puts into their routine.  It really is amazing, just getting more and more innovative as you watch it through.  They are from Switzerland.

An elderly woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
“I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”
The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?”
“That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
So, to all of my Cracked Pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Aaaaaaaaaawwwww...this video is very cute and very lovely.  What a neat group of people.

This mummy duck kept quacking at people passing by this drain.
They weren’t sure what she was trying to tell them until they discovered her little ducklings had fallen through and she was asking for help...

Look at this story about a weatherman:

"There's probably no word too hard for this guy to pronounce.
Liam Dutton, a weatherman for British TV station Channel 4 News casually nailed Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch -- the name of a Welsh village, during a recent report. (No, that's not a typo. This place actually exists.)
His spot-on pronunciation of the village name, which actually translates to "Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave," was shared in a video which was posted to Facebook on Tuesday. The clip quickly went viral with more than 1.7 million views and 18,200 shares. But is anyone surprised in its popularity?  The man's basically achieved the impossible.
Watch as he just zips through the word as if he uses it every day, barely even blinking.
Now, just imagine how good he is at tongue twisters."

You too can learn to pronounce the name, here's a song to help you:

This is an acapella group called Vocal Sampling from Cuba.  Acapella means that they are singing unaccompanied. All the music you can hear in this song is created using their voices.  I've shared it because I think they're amazing.

These animals are very cool, but it is sad that a number of them are endangered or vulnerable due to poachers or disappearing habitats.

    1. Good question - some of them I find myself, but most of them I see on Facebook or Twitter. I'm thinking of having a TED Talk page, where I can put the talks under subject headings. What do you think?

    2. I think that's a great idea. There are really interesting talks on TED and I remember there was even one person who talked about how skateboarding helped the mind and body work together like yoga
